Do you ever wonder what all those letters represent or what they mean?
What other questions do you have about words we commonly throw around that are now mainstream in the English language yet not fully understood beyond the queer community? Beer with God and the Affirming Ministries committee invite you to gather on Zoom on Thursday, June 17th at 7 PM as guest speaker Kiran McKee takes us through the answers to these and any other questions you might have. Register by contacting the office. And submit your questions to the office that you’d like Kiran to answer anonymously that night.
Kiran is from a multiracial family (Indian and Tanzanian) who first came out as a teenager in a time when very few supports were available. Kiran has degrees in Canadian history and gender studies focusing on the history of sexuality and labour history, and has trained as an end of life doula. She has been involved in LGBTQ+ advocacy and social work, has volunteered at Camp Firefly ad Girl Guides, and has supported this important work through the United Church for many years.
