Join us as we hear about one man's journey towards resilience, truth and reconciliation.
About our speaker:
Alphonse Dennis Nepoose was born in Hobbema, Alberta. He experienced and survived Indian residential school. Alphonse will share with us about the abuses he and others suffered, how he has learned to cope with memories of his experience, and about his views on reconciliation efforts. Come and be enlightened about what it means to be an urban aboriginal in today's society.
Note: This talk will include some sensitive and disturbing information. Free childcare will be available.
Following the presentation we will enjoy a traditional feast of stew, bannock and berries.
